TROY, Mich., June 20, 2016 – PayAnywhere, the mobile point of sale solution from North American Bancard Holdings, LLC, has announced that its PayAnywhere Credit Card Readers are now available nationwide at Best Buy. Best Buy will carry both versions of the PayAnywhere readers – the traditional PayAnywhere Credit Card Reader, which reads magnetic stripe payment cards, and the new PayAnywhere 3-in-1 Credit Card Reader, an all-in-one solution that accepts magnetic stripe and EMV chip cards, as well as NFC contactless payments including Apple Pay, Android Pay and Samsung Pay. The 3-in-1 reader will be the first of its kind offered in retail stores.
“We’re extremely excited about this partnership between PayAnywhere and Best Buy,” Marc Gardner, founder, president and CEO of North American Bancard Holdings, said. “By offering our innovative readers at Best Buy, business owners of all kinds and sizes can easily accept chip cards, which are more secure than traditional magstripe cards.
PayAnywhere card readers plug in to the audio jack of a smartphone or tablet, turning Android and Apple devices into mobile point-of-sale solutions (mPOS) that allow merchants to accept all major card brands – Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover and PayPal. Both the PayAnywhere Credit Card Reader and PayAnywhere 3-in-1 Credit Card Reader boast an impressive set of features including easy setup, faster funding and real-time analytics. Together, these features provide a seamless checkout experience for both PayAnywhere merchants and their customers.
Also available in Apple Stores, the PayAnywhere 3-in-1 Credit Card Reader enables merchants to accept EMV chip cards and NFC contactless payments, in addition to traditional magnetic stripe credit cards. EMV transactions, where chip cards are “dipped” into the reader, are the newest and most secure way to pay. These cards generate a unique code for every sale that cannot be re-used, helping to increase data security and prevent fraudsters from using a fake card with stolen data. For merchants, accepting chip cards protects them from being liable for counterfeit transactions.
“Many businesses have been slow to adopt EMV since the liability shift last October, primarily due to perceived cost,” Gardner said. “PayAnywhere’s 3-in-1 Credit Card Reader makes the transition both easy and cost-effective for small business owners. Our focus is to help merchants accept all forms of payment securely, without becoming a burden to their bottom line.”
PayAnywhere is helping new merchants get started by offering them up to $2,000 in free processing for the PayAnywhere Credit Card Reader, and up to $5,000 in free processing for the 3-in-1 Credit Card Reader when they open a new account.
The PayAnywhere Credit Card Reader retails for $9.99 and the 3-in-1 Credit Card Reader for $39.99. The PayAnywhere app works with both readers and is free in the Google Play Store and Apple App Store.
