Tony Newpower is the Chief Hardware Engineer for North American Bancard Holdings, LLC (NAB). Newpower is responsible for NAB's overall hardware strategy, including supply chain, product mix, features, and long term roadmapping efforts. He also leads the integration strategy for third-party partners to the NAB platform.

Before joining NAB in early 2023, Newpower worked at Square for six years, where he served as Head of Devices Software Engineering and, eventually, Devices Software and Hardware Engineering during his last year at the company. Prior to Square, Newpower was a Senior Director of Engineering at Qualcomm, leading the Microsoft engagement. Prior to that, he held various roles in the hardware/devices ecosystem at Symbian Software, Ltd., Texas Instruments, and Nokia.

Newpower graduated from the United States Naval Academy with a Bachelor of Science in computer science; from Southern Methodist University with a Master of Science in software engineering; and from American Military University with a Master of Arts in Naval Warfare. Outside of work, Newpower also serves on the Board of Trustees for Clinical Orthopaedics and Related Research (CORR), as Class Treasurer for his Naval Academy class, on the EMVCo Board of Advisors, and as a member of the U.S. Naval Institute.
